That's a great pic there headhunter.

Hard to imagine why anyone would ever want to build houses around one side and cracker barrels/hotels on the other. Wish all lakes looked like that.

There are quite a few cabins on Rainy. Some of them are incredible!! for the most part you do not see many boats or people though. Most of the time we are there, the majoirty of cabins on the lake are empty.

Awsome pic HH!!, it reminds me of the sunsets back home minus the water and greenery though, I seen the pics on your other post and realized you took your boat all the way there, man I sure hate to see the gas bill but I bet is worth every penny!!, how long does it take you to get there?

for the tow vehicle, just over $600 in gas. Not bad. We have made the trip to the border in 18 hours or so, but we stay overnight and it is a 2 day trip. by myself I could easily make it by 1 or 2 in the evening the second day if I left about 5 or 6 am the first day. It is about 1150 miles to the boat ramp. We are about an hour from the border to the ramp. We have fished all over Ontario but the last several trips have been to Rainy Lake. We have put in at LaBelle's Birch point camp. We tent camp on an island, but I would have no problem with staying at Camp Narrows, Tom Pearson owns it. Great person with a nice camp.
