Default Do I keep it?

Came across a jug someone had set out, with phone number on the jug and about a 5# channel on it. I didn't see any other jugs around with in a 1/2 mile or so. Should I of spared the fish and taken him and called the owner or just leave it be?

Out of guilt....I left it be

I would have released the fish (since we don't like to eat catfish) and retrieved the jug/noodle. I would have called the number and told the respondent I would be leaving the jug at whatever dock I had launched from.

I have come across that several times. I let the fish go and trash the jug.

If we find a jug with a fish and no other jugs in sight I count it as a free fish and an extra jug!

I would do this as well except I eat catfish. And only if the jug was properly marked. Unmarked jug=mine.
