Default Pike caught from kayak

Though I prefer the comfort of fishing from my flats boat, sometimes I do use my kayak for smaller or restricted waters. Recently I caught this 21" pike (pickeral) from Chief Creek Lake near Hohenwald, Tn. while bream fishing. Caught on a light wt spinning rod, it was a fun fight for sure. The fish actually spun the nose of the kayak around...too funny. A nearby boat snapped the picture for me and I tossed him back.

I have never caught a pickerel! Tons of northern pike in MN and Canada, but not one of those! Awesome!

about 20 years ago on Kentucky lake one summer we caught a bunch of chain pickerel. Kept getting broke off fishing plastic worms and did not understand what why until we were able to catch one without getting cut off.

Nice catch, I think that is the biggest Pickerel I've seen. That is one species I've never caught.

We used to catch some pickerel bluegill fishing in S. Fla., and I've noticed they were in the TN regulations, but that is the first I've seen here. Cool catch.
