Default First big rockfish! (kinda)

Went fishing with Ron (Old Sailor) today for the first time. I'm new to fishing with live bait and had a hard time being patient to let the rockfish swallow the whole thing, I kept setting the hook too soon and pulling the bait out of its mouth. I'd reel it in and see the marks from where the rockfish had it halfway in its mouth haha.

Lots of that going on for both of us, no fish though for about 4 hours. Then Ron hooked into one and gave me the rod immediately to fight it. It was a good 7-8 minute fight and I pulled in this 36lb beast! I finally got to feel the fight in one of these things and I was quite impressed. I'll definitely be fishing with him again and if I can calm down my itchy trigger finger I'll hook my own and be even more proud

Ron showed me how to revive these fish and made sure it swam away happy and healthy.

He's a super nice guy too, I had a great time fishing with him and can't wait to do it again. I graduate in two weeks and then my fishing trips are going to significantly increase! I'll be making more trips with him for sure.
