Default 9 mile harpeth float

Plan to do a 9 mile float tomorrow. With the water level at what it is now, how long should I expect this trip to take. It wont be continuous paddling. We will be fishing too.

Water is fast right now and I would expect 9mi to pass in three hours without fishing. I'd easily up it to seven hours, probably more, with fishing. Keep in mind you'll be doing a lot of paddling to stay in one place and keep an eye out for fresh log piles. Have fun!

During mild flows I try to figure just less than 1mph, with the flows now you are looking at floating around 3 mph without paddling. Instead of paddling down stream you will be paddling upstream when you find a fishy looking area and looking for an edy to tuck into. Be careful.

Default What stretch?

If I may ask, what are your put in/take out locations. We did a canoe trip with our kids when we first moved here, but I would like to take the kayak out on my own now. What are the best sections for kayak fishing?

Thanks
