Clarksville Marina - 4-23-2013
Since current in the river is making fishing almost impossible, plus the fact they were calling for 16mph winds today, I decided to stay in the marina lagoon and fish there. Right at first light, I managed to get into some white bass. Nothing like the size I caught about 2 weeks ago, but still not too bad. Love their aggressiveness and the fight they put up. Later on, while making my round of the marina, I saw 2 guys fishing from shore with bobbers and (I think) jigs or grubs and they were catching some really nice crappie. I grabbed my ultralight and since I didn't bring any trout magnets (I'll have them next time!), I put on a small crankbait. No crappie, but man oh man, did I ever get into the bluegill. I had a fish on every 2nd or 3rd cast. A little after 10 the wind got really bad so I called it a day.

Nice pics. Good to hear fish are still in pipers pond. They must have the gates open at Cheatham for the river to be so bad.

It's killing me right now. I took the week off to get a few days on the water. Yesterday the plan was to run up to Yellow Creek near the steam plant, explore/fish it and then work my way back to the Red River and fish it too, time permitting. The river was the color of chocolate milk and I was playing dodge-the-tree all the way up to Yellow Creek and back. Only caught a few small bass up there, and nothing at all in the Red River and I went quite a ways back too.
BTW, we may have met...I work with Tom B. and Mark B., and I fished a couple of your open tournaments with Tom B. last year.

Thanks guys. Some of my friends keep asking me why I always take pics of sunrises, birds and other wildlife...just can't help it LOL. IMO, there's nothing better than to be out on the water watching the sun rise, and hearing and watching the world wake up around me. As for the wildlife, I guess it's part just loving nature and part living over in Korea for so many years where there wasn't much wildlife to be seen.

I totally agree. My "happy place" is running across the lake in that between dark/sunrise period and the water looks slick as glass with the cool breeze hitting your face. At that point in time....all is right with the world.
