Default Priest 3/30

3/30/2013
Priest, Fate Sanders upriver
1:15pm - 6:30pm
55 F
H2O 54F
Wind up to 6 mph
WC up to 40' fish from 14' to 31'
A lot of debris due to recent rains.
Put in atFate Sanders. Ton of boats due to the bass tournaments. Went to tree beds and fished crappie magnet with black and chartreuse. Nothing. Sat there 15, 20 minutes. Still nothing. Moved upriver around bends. Started trolling with big motor looking for baitfish. Finally found baitfish and threw marker. Turned around and was sitting in 35' of water. Tried vertical jigging. Caught small 6" black crappie, then Nothing. Tried trolling in a small area. Nothing. Rain was due to move in so I started trolling back towards Fate Sanders. Jig hung and stopped and turned around. Broke jig. Retied. Started trolling again. Hooked huge 12 1/2" - 13" white crappie. Wouldn't fit into crappie checker it was so thick. Continued trolling and hooked smaller 11" white crappie. Both caught in 1/8 ounce chartreuse road runner head with dreamscicle bobby garland stinger shad. Second set of keeper crappie on this bait. Total of 4 keepers so far this year.
