Default Rock island state park

I will be going to rock island state park, and camping there Monday untill Wednesday. I have never been there, has anyone been there? What species of fish will be there, and will they be shallow enought to catch yet?

Thanks

They have been catching crappie and some walleye off the bank in the park. There are all kinds of fish in that area from smallmouth to giant paddlefish. You can fish the bank by the launch ramp in the park or hike down the trail to the blue hole. It is a beautiful area. Have a good trip.

They can get a good run of white bass around now as well as the walleye. Catfish, smallmouth and kentuckies are fat up there. Try bluehole and also across the dam to where the discharge is. Great falls lake, on the other side of the dam in the Caney Fork and Collins river is a known destination for Muskie.

We went Monday, came back today, with only a 3 inch bluegill on a cricket. We fished Caney fork, great falls lake, and Collins river. Apparently it was to cold for the white bass.
