Default Marrowbone Lake

I am heading to Marrowbone Lake today to try it out.
Its only 15 miles from me and the $8 boat rental is hard to beat.

I will post a report. Should be a nice day, fish in the boat or not!

I got on the water about 7 this morning, and fished until 11. I threw an 8" rainbow trout Huddleston, which looked just like the stocker trout they were catching from the dock. I threw this bait for a while but got wore out from it!

I had a UL setup with me and threw a SK bitsy minnow a few times and had trout followers almost every cast, short strikes but no takers.

I threw a deep diver in main channels, i threw a squarebill across points, i threw a shaky head at deep bank cover, but i came up empty.

the water was 44 degrees at 7 this morning.
tough day, but beautiful.

i rented a canoe. i think it was a bit more than the jon boat, but i liked it.

blink, if you want to hit Marrebone again, let me know. We'll take my boat and I have a method that NORMALLY lets me catch my limit. I just need to pick up my trout license.

blink, I went to Marrebone today. Started fishing about 11. I had my limit by 3:00. Fishing was slow, had to find where they were then figure out what they wanted. Fishing in the middle of the day isn't the best but it worked out today. I' m going to hit it at daylight tomorrow. Should be better fishing.......unless it's raining! then I won't go.

Sure is a pretty looking lake. Me and a buddy are headed there on Thursday and we're renting a john boat and trolling motor.

Merv, you got your limit of what? I'm assuming bass but I know trout are stocked in there too. And it's going to be pouring rain tomorrow!

blink, I caught my limit of trout. Actually caught 8. I had my seven and while reeling in my lines, I caught number 8. He was the lucky one that got to swim away

Looks like a nice time on the water. Weather should be good again next weekend of you want to go again. The trout were breaking water when I was there and I was thinking that if I had my fly rod I might do good on them. Could always try the ole powerbait under a bobber technique. Also, all the talk on this forum about trout magnets. They had a nice selection at the shop there at the lake I was tempted to pick some up.
