Caney 7 to 5 today
I was sick as a parrot all weekend with allergies so I go to the doc monday and he shoots me full of steroids. I feel great but I'm wired don't sleep til sometime yesterday. I wake about 3 this am ready to go. Snow ,, winds 15 to 25, high temp low 30's. Give me a break !! I've not been in almost a week so the heck with the weather I'm going. The closer I get to the river the more It snows and blows. By the time I get to happy its really blowing. I look at the river and theres a guy standing out in the middle fishing with the water coming up around him. I honk at him in respect and I think he gave me a middle finger salute. I put in and go up to dam and try to fish a little but my hands are freezing so I decide to drift. I get everything set. Move my livewell so I can get bait without getting up and extend handle of my fine 75 dollar dipnet so I can reach it. put out a couple rods climb into my chair , put my hands in my electric muff and lean back. My seat pedestal snaps off and I fall back ,bounce off the live well and land on my back in bottom of boat with my dipnet crumpled under me. My first thought is the snorkster done put a hex on me. I finally get up on my hind legs and my net is in a 90 degree bend so I finish breaking it cause I can't use it like it is. I start fishing and shad are coming through now and by the time I get to bend I have three nice browns. Make another drift and get two more. Try again and don't get any so I keep drifting and when I pass Happy I have three more. Only one gen running now so I decide to keep going and went all the way to Betty's without a bite .Back to dam and drifted through 2nd power line hole a couple of times and caught three more and lost one trying to get it in my fine stubby net. Did not measure or weigh any but none where huge. Took a couple of pictures of first fish in net and after that just dumped them back. Saw one little bald. Finished with 11 fish and a sore back.

Good job as always. You are one tuff dude being out there today. I leaned back in my seat the other day and it broke also. Of course you got that sweet seat on your boat. Sorry about your net.

Nice fish again! At least you didn't fall IN the river, that would really have ruined your day. Get that back healed up, you'll need it for those rockfish soon!

Way to go! Those are pretty fish. Sorry about all your mishaps. I have one of those EGO nets also.....I know I would hate it if I broke mine. Really enjoy your fishing reports and pics...makes me work that much harder at getting my knee in shape to get my butt back out there. I have always fished in the cold but I am ready for some warmer weather. Have had a dose of those steroids several times for allergies......first day or two I wouldn't even go to bed. Those things can really wind you up...LOL.
Regards

Bringing an Old Sailor Home ... <'TK><
Bringing Home a Drunken Old Sailor Irishman Home (He must be Irish he drinks Irish Whiskey ?? )
Old Sailor is in a pub about as drunk as it’s possible to get After whipping Brown Trout all day on the Caney , and fighting a defunked catch net and a previous spill ... .
A group of guys, TravisC, Aglesssone, Browntrout, MNFisher, AlphaHawk, and jad2t, and Snorkster notice his condition and decide to be good Samaritans and take him home.
First they stand him up to get to his wallet so they can find out where he lives, and he keeps falling down. He falls down eight more times on the way to the car, each time with a real thud.
After they get to his house, he falls down another four times while getting him to the door. His wife comes to the door and one of the guys says, “We brought your husband home.”
The wife asks, "Where's his wheelchair?" .... <'TK><

You're right Jimmy If that happens while I'm running up the river I probably wouldn't be pecking this out.
