Default caney yesterday

Got to caney yesterday when they were bringing up 2nd generator and birds were beginning to gather. There were three guys bank fishing at dam but they left shortly after I got there. Made a drift and caught a nice 7lber and three smaller ones by noon. Then wind blew me off the water.I fish a controlled drift trying to keep baits at current speed, and with the gusting everchanging winds ; it could not be done. Saw several balds and two beautiful red tail hawks feeding on shad. God is great.

I battled that wind yesterday afternoon from the bank. No bites! Was tough!

Nice fish! God is good!

No have not seen that one anymore ; he was not hanging around the caney but on the move. I wonder if he was shot . Back when I used to bird shoot I would see shot make injuries like the one he had.

He strikes again! So there were a lot of shad coming through the generators? I wonder how long that will keep up. I might head out there Thursday afternoon to try for a big brown of the shad are still coming through.

Was'nt much of a strike Jimmy. When I got there around 0630 no birds at all hardly. they gathered quickly though. I was down river till 1400 they were still at it when I got back to dam. All bird action except for a few crows is in immediate area of dam. I don't catch anything at dam but theres no doubt the big boys are there. Good luck.

I was there and there were plenty of shad coming through and lots of birds and a few hours yesterday and 3 hours Saturday produced no fish at the dam. I think they are all full! The cold front definitely gave them lock jaw, whether the bait is there or not!

Sailor, what kind of boat do you have? You might have been pulling out when I pulled in the access. I almost asked if it was you.

White 16ft seark, I went out about 1600 . There was another boat there when I left. Didn't see you. I think its a size thing. They are looking for a little white shad. I have a buddy up there now who is doing okay on a white streamer. Regards

Yep I saw you, I was in the white impala slowly driving by you as you were sitting in the parking lot after you pulled out. I wish I would have said hi.

I tossed everything, including small minnows, large minnows, large shiners, and small shiners...nada! It was the toughest I had ever seen it.

No sluice, If you go to corps nashville district web site under selected dam it has a "gate" section that tells you flow in cfs of gates.

Good job! We were up there on Sunday tossing stick baits hoping to catch a whale but didn't get one bite. There were plenty of birds around so presumably bait coming through so it was disappointing.
