Thumbs down Tennessean Article Harry Foster Rebuttal .. <'TK><

Message being sent to the newspaper from Harry Foster ...

Just read the Tennessean today. But, the Tennessean's Editorial was disappointing, clearly showing a lack of understanding of the economical damage versus the same old message of "just a bunch of whinny fishermen". "The Corps has a job to do", even if it means putting 'Closed Signs' on so many businesses. Corps 'Policy over Economy' is Exactly why our Congressmen were compelled to get involved. Claiming fishermen have not been responsible in their actions around the bottoms of the dams while our fantastic safety record boasts only ONE true boating drowning below these dams in 42 Years!!

The Tenneesean seemed to be on a mission to chastise our politians for having to take actions against a 'Policy Rules Over Public's Best Interests' by an unwavering, misleading, and truly arrogant Federal Governmental Agency. State Agentcies of TN & KY, many of the affected County Government Officials, and the Public have tried repeatedly for several months to get the Corps to listen to our grave concerns of what the Corps Policy Action will do to the millions of tourist dollars to our two States. But repeatedly, the Corps will not listen to any common sence, only to their goal to comply with their self created, [and lacking], deaf Policy.

Our Elected Officials are placed by the Public to listen to and address the Public's Needs against a unelected Governmental Agency who is ignorantly & arrogantly damaging our local economy. We have been forced to fight, and fight we will for what is Right. We are not telling the Corps they can't follow their policy action, but there are less economical damaging ways to do it than the measures they have selected to accomplish it. Working Together, we can create a win / win solution if the Corps will only partisipate and stop ordering the Public around. Now that's The Real Story!

A sad and pitiful stance on truly understanding the issues by The Corps and The Tennessean. If stopping the Corps Governmental Over-reach and preventing just One Family Business from having to close must be accomplished by An Act Of Congress, ... then "Us Whinny Fishermen" are All For It!

I'm sending this to the Tennessean right now.

Default Tennessean

Tennesseean has always been too liberal to suit me. Don't read it ; I won't even wrap fish in it.
