Default Sluice Back on at Centerhill

As per COE Facebook site:
Sluicing will begin at Center Hill Dam at approximately 4:00 p.m. on 01/31/2013, and will continue through the rest of the weekend.

I think they are turning the sluice back on due to a generator being out and they are needing to bring the lake level down. I do not believe it is due to water quality. Someone may know more than I do about that.

I agree with you, the lake is getting pretty high and rising fast, so since one generator is down, that is their only means of letting more water out.

That's probably why.

Let's hope its not a water quality issue this early in the year or we'll all be just bluegill fishing with Alpha up there by August cause the trout won't be swimming anymore.

This is only published on their Facebook page. It is not published on the generation schedule page. If the COE is so concerned about our safety you would think they would publish it on the generation schedule page......just saying.

I'm pretty sure they'll be here in Cookeville for the Engineering Career Fair at TTU in late February. Part of me wants to stop by their booth and give them a piece of my mind but the other part of me realizes it's going to do no good and it's pointless.

They were pulling around 7,000cfs for weeks - was this all from the sluice? How long has the generators been down?

Only 1 generator has been out. The other 2 have working. They have turned the sluice on now to pull more water.

I see they are currently releasing 11,600. They must have gotten that 3rd generator working.

Old sailor is right...that is 2 plus the sluice. What do you think that will do to the fishing old sailor?

Tough to say. I like sluice + generators. Don't like sluice alone. Lake still rising.

Maybe we should take your boat up close to the dam and wave at the nice man with the bullhorn and the other nice man with the camera. I would like to have my picture in the presentation next week. Let me know when you want to go. I will dress up and get a haircut.
