Kayak trailer
Hey kayak guys. I am looking to get a trailer for my big tuna. Any suggestions on where to look?

I saw a guy using a trailer he bought at tractor supply or lowes... It seemed to work for him.

My buddy guides in Destin, he carries 2 at a time. He picked one up from this website. They ship to you unassembled.

Those are nice trailers for sure. Although if you can weld a little bit you could covert an existing trailer - but they wont look as good as the ones above...

Convert a jet ski or jon boat trailer; they can be had for cheap on craiglist, as can utility trailers.
Harbor Freight/Northern Tools has cheap new ones.

I would love to have the Yakima trailer...but it was about 700 bucks more than the Malone I bought. I got it with aluminum wheels....retractable tongue...and aluminum fenders. I really like it. Beats the heck out of car topping. Maybe one day I will sell it and get he Yakima. The Malone has 12 inch wheels also. I have towed it doing 75 MPH all the way to Nickajack. I wouldn't want to do that with the 8 inch tires that come on some trailers.

Yep, can't beat the Yakima, that will be my next trailer. I did a 3000 mile trip with Chad back in December and we pulled the Yakima with 3 kayaks on it the entire time and rode just fine. 80 MPH no problem, didn't even feel it back there. I will be having a kayak and trailer going up for sale here soon.

I paid 1400 bucks for the Malone....with the upgrades. You can get the one with galvanized wheels for about 1100 bucks. They are good trailers...that is a fact. But the Yakima is the one to have...but I will have to wait a couple of years to get one of those...after selling my Malone...LOL.

I have a small duck boat trailer back in MN. I might just use that, I can't afford $1000 right now.

Hey...I hear you. If I had tools and workshop I would have gone with a used jet ski trailer or something similar and worked on it to set it up for a kayak.
