Default Caney 1/27/13

Fished the Caney today, had several 10-13 inch browns, rainbows and one brook. Lots of small stocker fish, had one good fish on for a few headshakes then it got off. Then finally landed this nice one. Measured in at 22 1/2. This is what the picture looks like when you hand a professional camera to Jad2t, and you tell him its on auto focus, but in reality it was on manual focus. I just told him to push the button, the camera will do the rest, no so much when I don't have it on auto!! Oh well. Saw an immature bald eagle grab a fish too, pretty neat! Saw a few other small trout caught and one guys caught a decent white bass.

Yep, just bank fishing. I haven't taken the yak out in a while. I would fish the pond area in my yak, but not down stream with this water movement. Since I like fishing the fast water, the bank is easiest for me! Everybody was tossing different stuff, but mainly typical trout baits, swimbaits, spoons, buck tail jigs.

Yea... my photography skills go no farther than my cellphone camera haha. I think I'm going to swallow my pride and try below the dam with live bait one of these days. Let me know next time you head there, I'm only 25 min away.

Until today, I thought those Blue Egrets hung out around the dam during generation to eat shad. Some guy caught a small brook trout, about 8-9 inches, and tossed it on the rocks toward one of them. It picked that thing up and swallowed it whole!

Good to know our trout stamp money is helping to feed great blue herons.

Nice fish. Looks like you had a better day than I did Saturday. Those browns sure are hard to figure out. Almost as hard as figuring out the wife.

Red face

I think mine has figured me out. I took her to the movies yesterday, we live in Lebanon and I always take her to Opry Mills. After the movie I always play the ole "hey look we are right here by Bass Pro" card. BUSTED!
