Default OH Crappie

Talked to a freind who got out this past Sunday (wish I could have went with him) fishing for crappie. He and a buddy tightlined minnows in laydowns off the main lake in 15 to 20 feet of water, mostly near bluffs. They put 40 keepers in the boat. The water was a little stained and they fished the down flow side of the tree tops, he didn't have a water temp. He said they found fish on almost all laydowns and they were in a feeding mood. Don't know how the cold snap is going to change things but I would think they were in their cold water hideout when they caught the fish. I'm hoping to get out with him this Sunday, if I do I'll update all. Just a side note, he did mention that the egg sacks were a little lerger than what recalls them being this time of the year in past seasons, maybe there will be a early spawn.

Safe fishing to all.

Ray

Ray I doubt if there will be an early spawn.....but it is possible. Those egg sacks can fool you. When I catch crappie in September and October they most all have egg sacks...and some of them pretty large. Counting days until I hit Nickajack again.
