Default Kayak Fishing Tournaments

I know there are quite a few kayak anglers that posts, so I’m curious if any participate in tournaments. I’m 95% sure I’m going to do the kayak bass fishing challenge for 2013, but also would like to know what else is out there (and legit). I’m aware of Kayak Wars, but it scares me being on a team not knowing how much I would contribute.

Anyone recommend any other tournament?

Kayak Bass Fishing and Kayak Wars are the two best online fishing tournaments. They are very different though, Kayak Wars is a team year long tournament with many different species where you accumulate points. Where KBF is a 7 month 7 different tournaments where you compete as an individual using one to two fish per month and only being black bass species. Kayak Wars benefits those who like to fish for Crappie, Bluegill, catfish, striper, hybrids, and many other species.

There are many live tournaments around the southeast also. Unfourtanately there are none set in stone in Tennessee. Below are a list of different tournaments you may want to check out if you are interested.

Kayak Bass Fishing Challenge Series (Online and Black Bass only)
Georgia Kayak Fishing GKF (live tournaments with 5-6 stops throught Georgia.
Kayak Wars KW (online year long multi species fresh and salt)
Elkhorn Creek Kayak Fishing Series (Live and in Kentucky)
KATS (Live Tournament Series in North Texas)
Southern Kayak Anglers Tournemant Series SKA (Mostly South Carolina, and Georgia, with one event in North Carolina black bass mainly)

There are a few more I'm sure that I'm forgetting.

Kayak Wars is a lot of fun, it consists of teams up to 5 members, and as little as 3. Get a couple buddies together and just have fun, or get on their forum, and find someone who wants to start a team. Last year my and txnative's team finished 3rd in our division and 11th overall, and two of the members didn't submit many fish. I don't hold that against them, just try to pep talk them, and will get on them harder this year sine I want to do better.

If you have any wuestions about any of the formats feel free to ask or post them up I would be happy to talk about them.

Jeremy
