Default Caney Fork 01-05-2013

Got to go fish the Caney for a while today. Fishing was somewhat slow for the bigger fish. You could catch all of the smaller trout you wanted throwing small cranks close to the bank. Was able to coax a few bigger fish out today. My son also caught a brooke trout up close to the dam that was gorged on shad. Hard to believe it could get anything else in its mouth. ( Kind of like me at a buffet) Also got to see the pair of Bald Eagles and saw the Golden eagles circling way up high.

Nice Brown!

That brook must think he was as big as that brown with all that shad in its mouth.

Travis actually it has been tuff this last week. I am not sure what is going on up there. Can't figure out what is going on but the river just seems to fishing different than normal. Maybe it just me.

Thanks...it is very much appreciated. Looking forward to it. When it comes to big Browns you've got their number on the Caney and will just enjoy seeing you haul in one of those Hawgs.

Bulldog,
I normally throw big stick baits for the brown trout. I notice that you live in Murfreesboro as I do also. If you will send me a PM maybe we could hook up one day and talk trout fishing. Also if you search back through some f the older threads you will see where several of us discuss tactics and tips for brown trout.

Nice fish! I'll be back in Cookeville in a couple weeks and back to fishing the generation below the dam. One of my goals this year is to get a 24+" brown. Biggest so far is 22

Nice fish!

Can you fish the dam pond when they are generating? I wouldn't mind trying the area before it is closed (hopefully not) if it is safe.
