Taking the little one out, need info

I'm taking my daughter out tomorrow (Friday) morning and was wondering if anyone has any reports from bank-accessible areas in Hendersonville. I'm hoping to find some white and yellow bass, since they usually school heavily and fight well. I'll be using minnows (for her) and I may throw a small jig to scout for fish. I want to get her out in my kayak with me, but that was idea was immediately and vehemently shut down by the wife, lol.

Nope, married for 6 years...asking forgiveness gets old, and asking permission is smarter in the long-term. That's why she lets me fish whenever I want, doesn't bug me when I'm on the water, and if I want to stay gone for a weekend, she'll be happy to meet me at the door when I get back.

White and yellow bass from shore are probably going to be very hit or miss right now. I caught some near my house a few weeks ago, but I think they've moved to deeper water right now.

I'd target bluegill and hope for white and yellow bass as a lucky bonus if they happen to turn up.

I don't know how old your daughter is, but have you thought about below OH dam at the last parking lot at the very end of Rockland? I've seen people take their kids as young as 6 in the area right below the flight of stairs by where the creek runs into the river? That spot can hold whites a lot of times and its less rocky there.

You'll want to be careful down there in that area. There has been a problem with guys getting caught exposing themself and a lets just say a "service" line going in/out the bath houses at Rockland Park.

I doubt a grown man fishing would have much issue but it's something I don't want to risk my lil one's exposure to. Sad world....

Uh, I didn't realize that such a problem was going on there. I guess that option is out for taking little ones to! It is sad indeed....

I have a few spots I can hit in gallatin, and a few I know well in Hendersonville, I just haven't been there in a while and needed some up-to-date info. Thanks for all the replies. I appreciate everyone's help and will return the favor if I can.

Don't forget the homely carp. I always suggest these for kids. Maybe bring a handful of canned corn in a bag. Carp love it, and it is a battle royale for a kid. And they are usually cruising close to shore. I took some seniors out carp fishing and they had the best fishing time of their life and they had zero experience, and always ask "when are we going again".
