Default Nickajack 10-27-2012

Not a great day for fishing yesterday. It was about 10:00 AM and I just decided I was going fishing. I checked the wind speed at Nickajack before leaving and it was only 8 MPH. For the first 45 minutes of fishing the wind stayed at the 8 MPH mark. During that time caught 3 Crappie all measuring 14 inches. The water where I was fishing started white capping and the wind had gone to 14 MPH. Tried to keep fishing but could not control my lure. Moved behind a road and got out of the wind but no fish there. On the spots I fish for Crappie down there the wind was at right angles to me. Could not get up wind or down wind. So home I came with 3 fish. The good news is on my trip down on Friday my last fish was at 15 and the 3 yesterday were at 14 inches...hope this means the bigger fish are now in there. Looking at the weather it looks like my fishing days for the upcoming week will start on Wednesday and go through Friday. Tomorrow and Tuesday will just be too much wind for my type of fishing. Couldn't seem to get the fish out far enough away from me for my phone camera to get all of it in the pic.

Regards

Thanks. My fear.....until yesterday.....was that the bigger Crappie would not show at that location this year. Looks like they are moving in.
