Default Mike Pearson aka (I think) white crappie

Received the sad news that Mike passed away today. He was a great sportsman and we spent many days hunting together. RIP Mike.

If I recall correctly, Mike used to post here as King Crappie.

I am sad to hear of his passing.

King Crappie is correct, my old brain doesn't remember very well. I have known Mike since high school, in recent years he had been dealing with severe rheumatoid arthritis and in constant pain. My dad would deliver food to him on occasions and he was miserable. I should know more today and will pass it on.

It was the arthritis ... I remember how much pain that he would been it even 10 years ago while we were fishing ... That is one reason he could not play strings anymore !!! ... If I had known I would have helped out Mike ... Mike took care of his Dad for years ... Man I'll miss Mike !!! <'TK><

I beleive there will be a memorial service next Friday at 2 at Spring Hill, he will be cremated and his ashes spread on several lakes he loved to fish. The pain from RA was horrible and he was taking some experimental drugs. He always kept us laughing in the duck blind, remember one day my dad and I saved him from sinking below OH Dam.

Default Spreading Ashes ... <'TK><

I guess this has come full circle ... Mike and I had a good friend that died about 10 years ago ... His last request was to have his ashes spread on the Caney Fork and Tailrace of Cordel Hull.

It took about two years before his widow could actually release the ashes.. Until she thought it was time to let him go and fullfill his wishes... She contacted me and Mike and I proceded in the service ...

Mike being a religious man wrote the last words before we spread the ashes in these waters ... It was Mike and the desist's brother and myself .. This was done out of my guide boat that Mike and I fished from for many years. I would have never thought that now his ashes would be spread before mine ...

I will miss Mike !! ... <'TK><

The memorial service is at Spring Hill in Madison at 2, visitation from 1-2. I know me and many of his friends will be there to say good bye to our dear friend. Was talking with a mutual friend about his bird dog "Daisy" that dog was the most false pointing bitch I have ever hunted behind, the friend said he wore out his safety on his gun hunting behind Daisy. Some great memories.

This is sad news. I remember Mike as that kind of guy that you like the minute you meet him. He was a great story teller and all around fun guy to be around. He was one of the original members here and used to keep this board laughing.

RIP KingCrappie.
