Default Senkos

I fished Ft Loudon this morning with my sons baseball coach- we were throwing watermelon/red senkos. I can't quite get the hang of it yet but he caught several nice ones-this was the last cast of the morning.

That is a nice smallie.

I don't have the patience to fish senkos. Even when I fish slow its still fast.

Wow, nice smallie. I bought a bunch of Lake Fork, and Gary Yamatto senkos 15-20 bags about 3 years ago, and have yet to catch a fish on one. I just don't have the patience to fish them kinda like watching paint dry, or waiting for something to hit live bait. They work, and work well but I just don't have the patience.

Nice smallie!

If I'm fishing my Senkos weightless (Texas rigged), I like to fish them more like a jerk bait. Cast out, let it sink. If I don't get a bite within 5 seconds, I give a quick jerk, let it sink while reeling up some of the slack. Rinse and repeat. The bass ususally nail it right as it's starting to sink. Some days the bass want 5", some days they want 4"...black, and black with blue flakes have been my most productive colors over the years.

Nice smallie. Must have been a great battle.
