Default Middle TN Streams

Had a great day friday Charlie Faulkner of Arrington and Chuck Bailey of Kansas wading 2 streams. We caught 60 plus fish with half being smallies. Most all were on Creekminnows and some came on live crawdads. the biggest smallie was 17.5 and the longest was a 3 ft water snake that hit my creekminnow. I did throw the jacks worm and tiny brush hawg watermelon red catching a few. I mostly just watched the two fish and caught bait. Our Middle TN Streams are fishing great and should stay that way as we go into summer.

We got on them today. 9 mile float, from about 8 AM to 6:30 PM. Topwater bite was hot until 11:00 or so. Never totally turned off but bigger fish were caught later in the day. Largest was 17.5 but my buddy missed a hawg just before we pulled out. Crushed a topwater plug, headed downstream, then spit him out on a huge jump.

Tried Mike's creek minnow method and immediately got a couple in the canoe. Didn't stick with it too long as I ran out of stonerollers and I suck at throwing the new cast net. Need serious practice.

Saw immature bald eagle, 3-4 hawks, 4' gray rat snake and a really cool area where large redhorse suckers were spawning in a shallow run below a riffle. Been a long time since we did an all day trip on a beautiful middle TN stream.
