A friend and I went out to
Bumpus Mills yesterday morning for a couple of hours and it was some rough fishing. Early on, it was cold, overcast and windy but the bass were biting. As soon as the cloud cover passed and the sun hit the water, it was like someone flipped a switch and the bass got lockjaw. My buddy had a really nice sauger on which got off right at the boat, and he also caught a catfish on a shaky head rig. The biggest bass yesterday was just a tad over 3 pounds; they were hitting sexy shad rattle traps, shaky head rigs and 4" black Senkos, fished wacky-style.
