Default Chasin gills on a fly rod

Had a little time to get out on a secret hole of mine and it was a lot of fun. I fish a size 12 adams with a technique called "dappling" I believe. Short lines and just skimming/twitching it along the floating grass patches. The bluegill were all pretty nice and one they came up through to eat it dove straight back in. Luckily, I never broke any off pulling them out of the grass beds on 2lb tippet.

Here are some of the nicer ones...the bottom 2 pics are of the biggest one @ 9 inches

Nice man, those are some wide shouldered bluegills. Do you eat them?

Sometimes but at that place I always release because of how fun they are to catch. Personally, could eat fish about everyday but I'd bethe only one here in the house like that so rarely will a fish come home.

Those are nice Gills.....great colors. I am going down to Laurel Hill...VFW tomorrow. You know I have that Trout Magnet Trinity series 9 foot rod which is made from a nine and a half foot fly rod blank. It is spooled up with 2# test. It is a lot of fun catching Gills with it.

Regards
