Default Kayak Insurance

I was just wondering if there is a rider maybe you could put on your insurance policy to cover your kayak? I have some ares I am going to access by kayak this spring for Turkey hunting. Plan on locking it up to a tree or something. I have people I can call if it does get stolen to get back but I was wondering if it got stolen if there was an insurance policy that would cover it?

Sometimes you can add a rider to your homeowner's insurance policy that will insure certain property items against theft even if they are stolen somewhere other than at your home.

So, if you're a homeowner, talk to your agent because that's probably the easiest and cheapest way to do it.

I suppose an insurance agent could probably give you a quote for a stand-alone theft insurance policy to cover your personal belongings, but unless you're insuring a lot of stuff and you bundle it with other types of coverage through the same company, it's probably not going to be very cost effective.
