Default Fishing Marrebone???

Has anyone fished Marrebone?

It's a quaint looking 66 acre bowl lake set down in a hollow. Looks like it should be good for crappie and redear/bluegills.

Just wondering if anyone had fished it recently.

I have not fished it in a couple of years. It may hold good fish...meaning really nice Shell-crackers and Bluegill...but I don't think so. I know you live in Goodletsville but the Wiiliamsport lakes are not that far from you. I can tell you that in the Spring...and in the Summer also but it is harder...you can really get into some nice fish there. And if you want to travel further to Laurel hill you can get into a constant rhythm of catching huge Bluegill....most being from 8 to 10 inches...and the Shell crackers there are huge...one pound fish being common and 2 pounders not uncommon.

Regards

Williamsport is 1 1/2 hours away vs 30 minutes for Marrebone. Maybe I'll plan a day trip over there sometimes.

Oh yes..I am very aware of the distance...and that is always a problem...with gas heading to 4 bucks a gallon. It will cause me to fish closer to home also...but will be able to get to more places now with the acquisition of a kayak. I will fish both places so if you watch my posts you can tell when a good time to go would be.

Regards

Thanks alphahawk,

I'll be watching your posts. I normally check here everyday. I'm retired and can't fish everyday because of the weather, and like you mentioned, gas headed for $4.00 a gallon. Even a little trip to the GSP with gas in the boat and truck, costs me about $20-25 a trip.

Oh, and when the weather is like today, thunderstorms all over and possible tornadoes, I tend to leave the boat in the garage, LOL.
