Default Tims 1-6-12

Tim's Ford 1-6-2012
Terry Hicks (pictured) and I put in at the State Park Ramp this morning at 6:30am and fished until 12:30. Water temp was 47 degrees if they drop the water much more the ramp will be iffy....you can see the end very easily. For most of the morning we didn't have any wind but still managed to put the Smallmouth and Spots that you see in the boat. I also lost a very good fish that hit with 2 or 3 cranks left at eventually pulled off. Best lure by far for us was the Rapala Red Craw DT6 (see picture below dated 12-30-11) 6lb Sufix Pro Mix Mono line of choice. Last post for the week-Rick McFerrin www.tennesseebassguides.com

Good Looking fish! We fished Tims yesterday (1/6) from 1000 to 2:30 putting in at Devils Step. Nothing on the upper end. Ran down to the lower end near dam and picked up three smallmouth with two over 18 inches (18.5 and 20). Two were caught on 1/2 ounce PB&J football jig and the biggest on float and fly.

Have a blessed weekend!

Rick - It was around 49 at the Step. Water was pretty off colored up on that end which really surprised me. I was expecting it to look like it did on the lower end, clear. Bait seemed to be holding in the back half of the main lake pockets on both ends of the lake.

Thanks for all the reports you post!
