Info needed on TN River Park

I am always reading the Nickajack fishing report on the TWRA web site. It always mentions this park in the report and as to what is being caught there. Anyone have any info on the place or has anyone ever fished from there? From Google Maps it looks like there are fishing piers there. I would imagine the place could get crowed as it is very close to the city.

The actual "Riverpark" is a linear trail that runs from Chickamauga Dam downstream to downtown Chattanooga... about 7 or 8 miles.

There is one specific section on that linear trail called the Hubert Fry Fishing Center which includes several fishing piers specifically for bank fisherman. They are well-utilized... but rarely "crowded."

There is also a launching ramp there that lots of anglers use, therefore boat anglers have come to refer to that entire section of river, and sometimes even further downstream, as "The Riverpark." Of course it is technically Nickajack Reservoir, but it is a very different fishery ... about 45 river miles away from the main, lower end of Nickajack where I believe you fish.

However, if you know how to fish it, and adjust for varying current flow (just like Nickajack Tailwaters), it is very productive water. The overwhelming majority of my guide trips (except for crappie) are out of "The Riverpark." Thanks for the info. My son and I like to fish different tail races and had heard this one was really good for Spots and Smallies. I might try it in the next week or so just to check it out...but we plan on hitting it hard in the Spring. Am off to Pickwick early AM to see if the Crappie have moved in to the Crappie hole. Must admit though it is tough to not go back to Nickajack with the Crappie I have been pulling out of there.
