Default Anyone fish Chicamauga Tail Race?

I am on my way to Nickajack to try and catch some Spots. I was looking at the limit one could keep from the lake and saw that if you are fishing from the Chicamauga Dam down to South Chickamauga
Creek the limit is 15 per day. Am I to assume that area holds a ton of Spotted Bass?
Anyone have any info? Thanking you in advance.

Regards

It's been quite a while since I've been down that way, but I actually discovered some surprisingly nice smallmouth in that area. Big catfish too.

Yes, tons of spotted bass. April is the super hot month. On a good day you can catch 100-plus.

90 percent of them will be 11-14 inches long. If we catch one 2-3 lbs, it's a big deal. They just have a super slow growth rate for some reason.

Visit my website for pictures and fishing reports. I fish almost exclusively in the Chickamauga dam Tailwaters.
