Interesting tidbit. I spoke with a guy at The Bait Shop in Hendersonville today and they do not carry crawfish anymore. He said due to a change in regulations about two years ago that it is very difficult to get them for resale in Tennessee now.

I am sure that probably has to do with invasive species act...but when you drive to Pickwick in the Spring you will see signs...at bait shops and just on the road....."Crawfish For Sale". That tells you the White Bass are up at the dam by the millions and evidently there is a time during spawn that they will only hit crayfish. I am pretty sure all of these crayfish are locally caught as they bring a pretty penny...I think the bait shops pay you ten cents each for them. I don't know that for sure as I have never used them there for that. But I do know they sell tons of them when the White Bass come in there.
