Default Tims Ford 9-13-2011

Tim's Ford 9-13-2011
Terry and I put in at daylight and by 6:30am he had already caught 5 Smaller Smallmouth (not pictured) on the Rapala Flat Rap Blue/Silver (FLRO6) pictured above. We moved a couple times and caught the 4 above on the same Flat Rap and a Luhr-Jensen Krocodile Spoon www.luhrjensen.com We lost 2 fish we didn't see and put the boat back on the trailer at 11:00am. I experienced steering cable problems and had to leave my boat at the shop. If I get it back this week I will be back on Tim's and will up date you then. Water temp was 74 at daylight and 75.3 when we left-lake has fallen about 8 inches or so, color is great. More when I get my boat back. Rick McFerrin www.tennesseebassguides.com

Rick, when you say "color is great," do you like a little more color in the lake, or do you like it really clear? In past years I've seen Tim's Ford get really super-clear a couple times in the winter.

I'm not sure what the lake looks like now, but as noted in my report below, the Elk in the tailwater has a LOT of color in it now, at least for trout water - much more than I would like to see. I'm wondering if the lake looks the same way.

BD....I like a little color which we have in the main lake area now.....When we get big rains I like the upper end of the lake-the Turkey Creek area and at times lLost Creek......A little color-a little wind both help on Tim's...Rick
