It started cloudy and ended with sun. Slow from 2-3. Picked up from 3-5. I caught 90% of my fish in that window all on shad.
2 Rock Fish, biggest 5 lbs
6 channel biggest 8 lbs
4 blue cats biggetst 5 lbs
2 drum biggets 8 lbs
1 sauger- bonus fish

Bait by the billions. You could throw your cast net in the parking lot and bag at least a hundred shad!

If you like rod butt red marks on your stomach from giant cats and stripers, OHD is on fire right now.

To all: Please be careful. Many close calls lately especially in front of the spillway doors. Respect other's space and be smart. A fish isn't worth anyone's life.

I was there earlier today, and I threw my castnet in the parking lot like 10 times, and I didn't get any shad. My cast net just got ripped up. I was very disappointed in that advice.

Default OHD Parking Lot

You must have been in the wrong lot.
Seriously the area below the spillway doors is sick with shad.

For those that bank fish the dam, which side do yall usually go on? I used to go to the Hendersonville side because the Old Hickory side was always seedy people. Now it seems reversed.
