Center Hill Lake - First timer

Have never fished Center Hill Lake and would like to try trolling for some walleye. Was wondering where a good boat ramp would be to put in at to get close to some areas that may hold fish. Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks !

I would suggest hurricane bridge ramp the walleye are all over the lake but there are good banks going into big hurricane and mine lick and along the main channel. Hit the points at 15 to 25 feet and you should find some. 1 to 2.5 miles an hour is a good speed. I like my worm rigs to bounce bottom. They will move more shallow. Some of the bluffs have shelfs that are 20 ft or so down coming out of deep water and you can find them also.

I would also suggest Floating Mill campground. They have a day use area there with a ramp. If the water is too low to launch from the day use area you can use the campground ramp. Look for the red clay banks-there are plenty of them, also some marked humps. I will be there either the week of July 11th or week of July 18th, depending on weather forecast. Burgandy & grey Alumacraft, usually a red umbrella raised or a burgandy top up, depending on weather. If you see me, stop and say hello. I fish there a lot.

Thanks for the suggestions & tips for Center Hill Walleyes. We put-in at the Hurricane Bridge Recreation Area Ramp and trolled one side from where the stream comes in - all the way to where it joins the main body of the lake without a catch. We also trolled the banks near the bridge and I hooked a good fish on a floating minnow tied behind a bottom bouncer. Got it right to the boat, where we could see it, and it made a lunge and got off. Guess I should have set the hook better! We caught a few Spotted Bass, as well.

Center Hills' scenery was awesome, but the fish weren't very cooperative.
Will definitely have to give it another try.

Glad you got out there and thanks for the report. I'm thinking you stopped just a few yards short of the fish, if you stopped at the junction. At the junction, go right to the marker buoys with shallow water on the right side of the bank. Floating Mill campground will be on your right. There is a marked hump that usually holds some nice walleye right there. If you fished the left bank on your way down, try the right bank on the way down. I've fished that left bank several times and never gotten a walleye from it. I don't even fish between Hurricane and the junction-I just bypass that.
