Default Navionics Iphone App

You can download the Navionics App from the Itunes Store for $9.99. Covers US. You download the portion of the country where you want to fish. An HD version is available for the iPad ($34.99). Some of the lakes have contour lines as close as one foot apart.

There may also be a similar app for Android.

I've got it on my Droid X. Works good but it's a battery hog so you need to be plugged in if you plan to run it for any length of time. I also have Navionics on my HB 998. Great contour detail and more accurate than my Garmin maps.

Are you able to set waypoints with this app?

Default Yes on Waypoints on the iPhone APP

Used the app on Saturday and Sunday this weekend on Woods. Worked flawlessly. The contours on Woods are at one foot intervals so exceptional detail. I was trolling and the app shows your direction of travel making it easy to line up humps and drop-offs. Well worth the ten bucks!

Default Iphone Navionics

This application works great...my Iphone 3G runs it pretty well, there is some hesitation when I zoom in and out on the map...but for 10 bucks to have detailed contours of hundreds of lakes it's a no brainer. It records your location/speed/direction and will show you how far your route was. Basically it has nearly replaced my Garmin with the Hot Spots chip.

Unless it has changed Garmin doesn't fully verify the map data they sell. Garmin purchases it from cheapest supplier they can find. Then turns it on over to the customer.
