Default Fishing on Saturday

Hey guys,
I appreciate all the info from my Bank fishing post, but unfortunately it stormed the day I had planned on fishing. Well Saturday is my 30th Bday, and I am going to drag the wife to a fishing spot in the AM. I was thinking of fishing below the Old Hickory Dam because they have been letting out water for some time, Is that a good area to try? Or should I focus on hitting shores above the dam? I really want to catch a striper or hybrid since they do not exist in MN. I have never caught one and want to!! Are there good areas to fish below the dam?? And what side of the river do you suggest? I am closer to JPP, but seems like it is too high to fish, but maybe not? Any advice?? Thanks!
