Smile please take a kid fishing

took my 14yr old son fishing saturday on old hickory.caught 3 keeper crappie and 5 catfish.biggest two being 8 and 10lbs.when my son got the first good cat in the net i saw a smile i will not forget for a long time.don't get me wrong, this kid has been fishing with me for 8yrs but this was the best day by far.todays teens are so tied up with sports, phones, xbox, girls, etc. that they don't get outddors like they should.so please take a kid fishing and see if you can see that smile i saw.
p.s.don't forget the sunscreen like i did.

I know what you mean! I took my little brother bass fishing sat for the first time. He has always gone with dad but it was our first trip together. He is 11 and wanted to learn how to fish a plastic worm. He said dad Hadn't taught him yet. So I did, and he caught his first one on his third cast. He never looked back after that. Talking about being happy! He was excited and had a great time. And so did I! It was better a better feeling then any tournament I have won! Glad dad finially let me take him. O by the way I took my dad last weekend and he had one of his best days too! That also was a great trip! I love the smiles!

I know what you mean about the smile. I can't wait for the gills to get on the beds. My daughter (3yrs old) will be back out there after them again.

Here was her first fish caught last year. It was caught on her Snoopy Catch'em (same model I learned on) and sporting the pink Bass Pro hat.

You could say I was a proud dad.

I took my 2 year old out saturday for the first time. She and her mother caught a little catfish under the docks on a real worm. I put him back and soon after my daughter started to mimic the grunt noise the catfish made, she said "Daddy......egggh...egggh.....eggggh." I have to tell ya it was too cute!!!

Taking my son on Saturday. We have been fishing together since he was in diapers, and now is graduating High School this year. Some of the best life talks we have ever had, were on the water. Take your kids fishing!
