Default caught a gar...

I was fishing with about 5 of my friends in edwin warner park today(the little harpeth runs through it) and we could see bass but none would bite anyhting we threw at them so we just gave up and decided to have some fun. We all grabbed a rod threw on some chicken livers and went for the gar. there were about 7 of them just sitting in this little eddie and we caught 3 of them not very big but fun. They hardly eat anything so i was surprised they bit. Anyone else been fishing the harpeth lately?

You can fish live creek minnows and catch all the gar you want in the Harpeth. There used to be some big ones downstream from the Hwy 100 access. You have to let them take a bait for a while because they are hard to hook. Use a heavy fluorocarbon leader to keep them from biting through the line.
