The doctor released me last Friday from the operation that I had in December and this is the 1st time to run the boat by myself and to fish Tim's since December 10-10. I got to the Devils step ramp at 7:30am and fish until 1:00pm. I fished up lake and the best water temps that I could find was around 43 degrees. I didn't fish above the bass club where I'm sure the water was warmer, but there was already several boats heading in that direction so I avoided the crowd. I caught and released 14 Largemouth and 1 Smallmouth. I also had 4 fish (1 good one) pull off right at the boat. I tossed just about everything but the #5 Rapala Shad Rap (Bleeding Olive Shiner) and 6lb test Sufix Pro Mix Mono www.sufix.com was the absolute best hands down. www.rapala.com No big fish but believe me it felt great to be back on the water. I booking trips for the spring/summer season. Oh yes before I forget, I talked with a couple gentlemen at the ramp that said they have been catching Smallmouth on creek minnows which this time of the year is still a great option. Glad to see you are recovering and back out and fishing again. I am also glad to see your fishing reports again. I'm hopefully getting ready to go out to Tims here in a few minutes, wanted to get out earlier but stuff happens.
I know what it's like to have surgery and spend down time to recover ... But you probably missed a lot of cold days on the water which may have been a good thing ... <'TK><
