Default Fish Finder Options

I'm trying to get a nice fish finder, I currently have a Lowrance Hook2 4x that came on my boat. I ordered a Garmin ECHOMAP Plus on Cyber Monday and they ended up canceling my order cause they no longer had them in stock... obviously anything is an upgrade from the Lowrance I have but I definitely want down imaging and side imaging. I'm not worried about the price but im probably not going to go with a screen bigger than 10"... now i'm debating on Lowrance Elite, Humminbird Helix, and the Garmin ECHOMAP. Do any of you run these units?

I run Helix 9" units at console and bow. These are Gen 2 versions with side/down/2D traditional sonar and GPS with mapping. I can tell you that anything less than a 9" version is difficult to see the details, particularly when standing at the bow. You should look at the Helix Mega units with chirp. Images I have seen on the internet forums are quite incredible. I bought my units from BBG Marine - https://bbgmarine.com/
If you have any questions call them, his name is Brian, and he is extremely helpful.

Since you are not worried about the price, this is what I would get:https://bbgmarine.com/lowrance-hds-9...map-pro-chart/

I think they still have the Garmins at the same price BUT NO TAX AND FREE SHIPPING. Check them out.

I have Garmin. My tournament partner has Lowrance and we fish out of his boat for tournaments. But the down imaging and side imaging I feel is better on the Garmin. Plus panoptix is the shit!!!

Yep, that is what I ended up going with... 2 of the Garmin Plus 93sv, that was what I originally ordered. Now I have to wait to find a deal on the Panoptix lol
