Default Bluegill bite is good

If you just want to get out and catch some great eating fish, there is a good bluegill bite below the OH dam.
Should be good the rest of the winter.
I caught a bunch of them yesterday with pieces of nightcrawler on a drop shot rig and #8 long shank hook, right off the bottom in 14-16 FOW.
Also caught drum, small catfish and one short ssuger.
Water temp was 61.6.
Location was along outside the lock wall up near the gates.
This is a good place to go when you get tired of not cathing bass....or hybrids.....or sauger.....or stripers. You just want to feel that tug on your line.

There should be some good ones on the OH side riprap as well. Used to catch a bunch from the power lines down to the lil point. Just find the current break. Mealworms bout 5' - 6' deep under a float. Used to fish through the winter down there and had the opportunity to meet Mr. Bill Hall on several occasions. He loved bluegill fishing and eating! Good times.
