I fished Old Hickory yesterday with my son. Water temps were 82 degrees. Found a ton of beds but there were only a few fish on each bed...and they were so spawned out they could hardly put up a decent fight. An odd year so far for me on bluegill. I hit Nickajack this past Saturday hoping to get back onto some more shell cracker action but the beds had no fish left on them really. I did catch my PB red breast sunfish and had a good shell cracker and a nice tussle with a 16 inch largemouth on 1# test line....a lot of fun. I will continue the hunt but am dead in the water as a weld broke on my boat trailer...getting it fixed Thursday. Am going even lighter in my tackle......have ordered an XUL trout rod. Should make for a lot of fun on bluegill in the 5-7 inch range. Here is link to Nickajack video from Saturday.....hope you all enjoy.
