Default Spawn still lingering?

In the last 2 weeks and in 2 different lakes I have caught bass that have bloody tails. Both fish had fresh blood droplets all over their tails. Is there another explanation for this to be happening? One fish was caught at Center Hill and one at Old Hickory. I think if you zoom in on the pictures you can see what I'm talking about.

My buddy caught one in very shallow water on Priest on Sunday where the very bottom of the tail was bloody. He said that Priest has two spawns and often they're as much as 3 months between each other.
