Default Good day on the cumberland...

Took off work yesterday and fished my favorite area with my brother in law. We landed these 5 fish with the largest being 24 pounds. Nothing huge but it was a great day to be out on the water. Mid-day we caught a couple skip-jack with intentions of using them as bait for some bigger fish. I've heard folks do that but have never tried it myself. I didn't have any hooks large enough and need someone who knows what the are doing to teach me how to rig these monster baits.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Thanks Adam - Have you been wearing out the crappie still? Hope to see you around again sometime.

what size/type baits were you using to catch those guys?

I like to hook those jacks behind the head, but in front of the dorsal. There are a lot of differnet ways to hook jacks depending on how you are fishing them....pulling boards, bottom fishing, fishing down lines or swimming them into down river holes.

We released a 28,32,36,41lbr on Sat all on jacks. Fish are up right now.
