Default Friday Steam plant report

Went out Friday morning early. My friend had something come up late so I went solo. As always I mostly go for the striper. Went to the barrier started throwing top water pencil poppers there was some surface activity. After a short time switched to the A-rig which has been my go to this year and last year. After about 45 minutes I hooked up with a healthy 8lber. There was one other boat to the right he caught three in 20 minutes. Must've been a nice little school he was on top off. Also the wind was blowing hard from the west which pushed those shad right up where he was throwing. He had on a swimbait. Those were 15-20lb range. Then it stopped no more bites. Left the barrier to try to catch skipjack to use for the striper, no takers. I had my boat on the trailer by 10 AM. Oh I was at the barrier about 630.

I actually forgot my HDS7 that morning. I always take it off my boat after fishing and put it in the house. With that said I had no way of checking water temperature.
