Default Jpp 1-2-17

Opted for a trip to JPP today to chase some crappies with XxJuicexX. We caught 2 keepers on the first tree so i thought we were golden....not so much. Many fruitless trees after that one.
After that we decided to call Merv since we felt bad for him never getting to catch fish, so we put him on the hybrids! LMAO.
TOTALLY KIDDING. Merv shot us a call saying where they were busting so we headed over He pulled at least one double when we were fishing close Even offered us a heavier rod or 2 rigged up with his secret baits.Other guys were getting em....not us. Not out of the norm on our trips though it seems. We chased the birds around a bend and i hooked up, then Juice who pulled a NICE hybrid. We got one or 2 more there.....chased the birds around and got into them again. Motored further down lake to my crappie haunt and were greeted with more striped fish.
All in all a pretty good day. I came home with 2 hybrids and a crappie and Juice went home with 2 hybrids, 1 crappie and a white bass or 2.
Thanks for the call Merv! Appreciate the info and the offering of your equipment. We just didnt plan on fishing hybrids so we didnt prepare properly.....man we tied on some unique offerings to try and match an A-rig best we could. Lol

Glad you caught a few for dinner.
I've had enough fish less days myself, so I appreciate a call from friends telling where, what and when.
For the rest of the winter, always bring a rod or two rigged for the hybrids.

I enjoyed getting out yesterday and catching some good fish. It was entertaining chasing birds around in a circle following the fish. I wish the crappie bite would have been good but I will take some nice Hybrids as a consolation prize. Merv, good to finally meet you and thank you for the offer of the rods.

Always willing to help a fellow fisherman, glad y'all caught dinners.
I went home and cooked up a LM bass I caught plus a big shellcracker.

Yeah, I love it. They are far from my favorite eating fish but if I catch a couple good ones they come home. One of them did about knock the reel out of my hand, I paused to check the time on my watch and as I had my left hand off the reel he smashed it. I'm going to have to try and get out again while the bite is on. I've got two new reels to test out.
