Tilapia--- Huge
I was at Poindexter's in Gallatin last evening and a guy was in there with a massive tilapia. I thought he said 4.9 lbs. It was alive and absolutely huge. I did not get a photo, He snatched it up and drove off. Absolutely huge.
Maybe that is common but I was impressed.....

Wow 6.8 probably don't keep records on tilapia but that's the biggest I've heard on OH.

We do have a record for tilapia.....and his beat the record by almost 3 pounds.

light brush of olive oil, seasoned with some Cracker Girl for a little spice and toss it on the grill!

Wow! that is a big one, I do remember of some 4 kg plus fish caught back home, that would be over 8 lbs, they would be caught with cast nets, not telling how big they can grow here

Im no tilapia expert. Never even caught one, but I just dont see anywhere near 6lbs from that picture. I know pics can be decieving as well. Awesome catch either way

Don't worry about eating crow, until you catch one.
The weight look of the fish will deceive you. From the side, they have that basic panfish shape, however when you get one in your hands, you realize just how THICK they are. They are twice as thick as any crappie or shellcracker of the same length. Just a chunky fish.
