Default Safe to Fish the Elk Today?

Hi Guys,

Center Hill Dam is generating most of the day. I have today off and I was considering wading the Elk instead.

However, they're generating 5 am to 11 am (and will start back up at 5 pm). Can I cast from the shore and/or wade a little at 1 pm or so? I saw a website stating that the Elk was unsafe up to 4 hours after generation.

Thanks!

If you fish right below the dam after they stop generation you should be fine, you can squeeze several hours of fishing before they start generating again, you should be ok wading with no generation, but as soon as the horn goes off please get off the water, water rises very fast and picks up quite some speed, try bouncing some night crawlers on botton, good luck and let us know how you do!

Thanks for the tip! I decided to hit the Caney as my wife needed me home by a certain drop-dead hour.
