JPP Striped Fish Everywhere
I didn't find any big ones, I consider over 20 inches to be picture post worthy, but dang they are all over the lower end. Massive boiling blowups can be spotted from far away. Swim baits and topwaters are killing them. Hybrids and Whites are as shallow as a couple feet. I went with xxTheJuicexx last weekend and we tore them up. I went Friday morning and had the same result. Get after them while it's still good!
They also make fantastic fish tacos. Just made another round of them tonight.

I'm going somewhere Wednesday after work to start the break in for the new lower unit. I can't decide if I want to go back and chase those striped fish or head to Normandy and scan for new spots. Last Sunday was fun.

Good job! I'm doing something wrong obviously. I fished this evening after mass from around six till dark. Only caught four. Three whites and a big ole crappie.
I was on the lower end but just didn't see much top water action going on. I seem to be catching a lot more white bass this year than in years past.
I wish I would have just stayed home because I apparently left a door unlocked on my jeep (I have to manually lock the passenger doors because of bad actuators) and had a LOT of tools stolen. Well over 1000$ worth of stuff I need in the morning for work. Didn't even notice until I got home. Hate boat ramps!!

Man I'm sorry to hear you learned the hard way about JPP boat ramps. Unfortunately they attract some of Tennessee's lower class of people and there are multiple vehicle break ins. I never leave anything of value in my Jeep and often will leave my doors unlocked too. Go ahead and go through it if you want to steal my hat, jack, water bottle, etc. Just don't break my window!

It is decent, still not great. Caught something over 30 hybrids Saturday morning, several over 10, biggest was 12. Caught 12 Sunday morning, biggest was 9. This morning, was the best, caught close to 40 and many in the 9 to 11 lb range with one that was just over 13 on the bogas. This morning they were eating a pro sizzle jr. The cork and fluke overall is still the best bait in my opinion and they are still confusing, I am finding them in a different place everytime I go.

What exactly is that setup and how do you fish it?

Man, I hate to hear that. I've never lost anything at JPP but had someone break into my tool box on my truck a couple years ago on G-Ville. Stole most everything out of it.

buy a casting cork, I got most of mine on a trip to florida, they are hard to find here, starky's used to have them. They are orange and white, have line tie on either end. I use 30 lb power pro superslick on the reel and and run a leader from the cork to the fluke. 5/0 straight gamakatsu hook with a pearl white, white ice or chartreuse pearl super fluke (many colors work) and throw and reel in popping the cork, not for the purpose of popping the cork, but to get the fluke to move behind the cork. I never measure but use about a 24 to 30" leader.
Some people strip a jumpin minnow and use it as the cork.
I will add a pic later.

this is real close, except of course, a 5/0 gamakatsu and superfluke in place of the lure. Appears to be the cork I use also.

I've got a couple of those corks. So you aren't just giving it a pop and then pausing for a bit? You are steady reeling and popping the cork the entire time to make the fluke dance?

If anyone needs a partner I would be happy to supply gas and food. Currently boatless and recovering from a heart procedure. nedbenz@gmail.com
