Default Swing and a miss on JPP today

I will preface this post by further admitting i no NOTHING about southern pre-spawn/winter crappies. Lol.
i figured they might still be deep, which is a relative term i know, so i started over brush in 20-25'.
dropped my minnow down and the rod tip kept going....nice thick 12" white crappie! i was beside myself!
the excitement turned sometime between 3pm and 4pm after burning 1/2 of gas and never got another friggin bite! LMAO.
I went as far down as Vivrette Creek and as far up as Fate Sanders. I fished every place i saw that i thought would hold fish. I thought wrong i guess. Lol.
marked a ton of fish in Vivrette, seen some spider riggers but didnt see but a few fish come to the boat.
the day was not a total loss though, i did put my lowrance to use to save to deep water brushy waypoints to try in the summer.
Seen gulls diving around longhunter, seen a few splashes in the waves but dont know what they were. Ive seen both carp and gar surface there in the past, but ive also caught good hybrids there in the past as well. Hanging about 15' down over 20-30' . Whatever they were, they didnt want my buffet of tried tactics.
it sounds stupid and its all mental, but i have a hard time mustering confidence fishing that dirty water. The fish clearly dont seem to mind though with other guys getting em! lol.
i think somebody dipped all my baits in $hit! LMAO

I struck out on bass on the upper end too. Just two dinks. I talk to a few crappie fishermen that had caught a few but were only catching shorts. Headed back out now to try the lower end. I typically do better down there this time of year.
